Energy Service

The mission of the Energy Service is to formulate and implement the Government’s policy in the energy sector. Its strategic goals are the creation of a sustainable and competitive energy market, the exploitation of the national energy savings potential and the promotion of domestic renewable energy sources.

One of the Service's main activities is the implementation of funding programmes for households and businesses, regarding energy saving and/or the use of RES.

To achieve its objectives, the Service is working on:

• development of the necessary energy infrastructure.
• integration of the internal energy market.
• supervision of the internal energy market.
• implementation of the National Energy Efficiency Action Plan.
• implementation of the National Action Plan for Renewable Energy Sources.

According to the Ministry's Strategic Plan for 2021-2023, the Energy Service has set as its main objectives:

• the creation of a sustainable and competitive energy market.
• the exploitation of the national energy savings potential and the promotion of domestic renewable energy sources.
