The mission of the Ministry of Energy, Commerce and Industry is to design and implement policies in the fields of hydrocarbons, energy, commerce, industry, trade and consumer protection, aiming at the rational use of indigenous energy sources, the monitoring and coordination of the supply of energy for domestic needs, the promotion of renewable energy sources and energy conservation, the strengthening of entrepreneurial competitiveness and Cyprus' extroversion, the stimulation of investment, the improvement of the business environment and the effective protection of consumers.

The Ministry's vision is to make Cyprus a key player and leader on energy issues in the Eastern Mediterranean region and, at the same time, strengthen commerce, industry and entrepreneurship, in order for the sectors to contribute to sustainable economic growth and the prosperity of all citizens.

Based on the above, the Ministry has set as its strategic goal the enhancement of the country's competitiveness and extroversion, through the gradual transition to green energy and a circular economy, based on European values and strategies and, especially, the EU Green Deal that calls for climate neutrality by 2050.
